Mixed snacks are always fun to eat, but they’re also easy to put together. This great popcorn mix is no exception. Delicious Kris Kringle popcorn mix! Not only will kids love it, but adults will also devour it. It’s perfect for the holidays, but guess what? You don’t have to use it only at Christmas time. Make it ahead and save it for an after-school treat for your kids.

Kris Kringle is an easy appetizer that will fit the bill the next time you have friends, family, and guests over for the holidays (or remember, for any kind of party or gathering!)

What you will need:

1 3-ounce bag of any kind of microwave popcorn

1 7-ounce jar of marshmallow cream

Small red and green candies

First, preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

On a cookie sheet, spray cooking spray to coat. Next, pop the popcorn in the microwave according to the directions on the bag. Next, empty the marshmallow cream from the jar into a bowl that you can use in the microwave.

Microwave the marshmallow cream on high for 1 minute – make sure not to cover it in the microwave. Then stop the microwave, stir in the cream, and continue to cook in the microwave for another minute or until melted.

Take the popcorn corn and gently pour it into the marshmallow cream. Be careful not to let any uncrushed kernels fall in. Gently stir the popcorn until it mixes and coats.

Next, spread the popcorn on a cookie sheet. Once you get a fairly even layer, sprinkle the popcorn with the red and green candies. All you have to do now is bake it for 10 minutes, stirring slightly after 5 minutes, or until the coating of the popcorn mixture has dried.

Cool completely on a cookie sheet set atop a wire rack. At this point it will all be one clump of coated popcorn. Once cooled, you can break it into large pieces and serve. Tasty!

This recipe makes/makes 8 cups.

For a different look, crumble candy canes and use them in place of the red and green candy sprinkles.

happy vacation!
